Dachshunds, often called "wiener or sausage dogs" are muscular, long bodied dogs with relatively short legs.  Daschunds are clever, active, well-balanced dogs with intelligence, confidence, and alertness - traits which make Daschunds a good watch dog, and an excellent family pet.
Dachshunds also have a keen sense of smell, and a strong bark.  Coupled with the previous qualities, these characteristics make them excellent choice for the hunter.  Their size and sense of smell gives them an advantage over other breeds in the hunt.
We have several rare and unusual colors and patterns of Dachshunds - such as blue, fawn, chocolate, piebald (spotted) and dapple (merle).
Our Dachshunds also get along well with children and other pets.

We hope you enjoy your visit to our Dachshund pages.
